Afghanistan beat Ireland by 28 runs in the third and final match of the three-match T20 cricket series to win the series 3-0.

Bating first, Afghanistan managed to score the highest total of 233 in an innings it has ever done. Ireland tried hard, but could only score 205 before all its players got out in the 20th over.

After winning the toss, Ireland put Afghanistan to bat first. Mohammad Shahzad scored 72 runs on 43 balls that featured 5 sixes and 6 boundaries. Mohammad Nabi hit quick-fired 89 of just 30 balls featuring 9 massive sixes and 6 boundaries.

Chasing this target, Ireland got off a promising start, but the Irish middle order let them down. With the exception of captain Gray Wilson who scored 59 no other batsman could resist the Afghan spin and fast bowlers. The whole Irish team got out in the 20th over with 205 on the board.

Mohammad Nabi was named as the man of the match and Rashid Khan as the man of the series.
The One Day International (ODI) series between the two teams would begin on March 15.
