International Marathon Held in Bamyan for Second Time

Marathon running race was held among 300 domestic and foreign athletes in Bamyan.

In addition to Afghan runners, athletes from UK, United States, Germany and Finland participated in the race. 

The marathon took place for the second time in Afghanistan and was run by female and male competitors in 10 and 40 kilometers.

In this running race, 100 girls took part from Kabul, Balk, Daykondi, and Bamayan in the presence of Ambassador of Finland, Mr. Anne Meskanen.

An Afghan athlete secured first position, followed by Britain and American runners in second and third positions respectively.

The marathon was held by support from International Free Running Organziation, Afghanistan Marathon Organization, the Culture and Information Administration and Rah-e-Abrishom Travel Agency.
