18 killed in suicide blast in Afghanistan on 1st day of Ramadan

At least 18 people have been killed and 6 injured in a suicide car bomb attack targeting a convoy of provincial security forces in eastern Afghanistan, Najib Danish spokesperson for Ministry of Interior says.

According to Najib Danish, the target was a group of guards providing security for US forces in Khost province but most of the victims of Saturday attack were civilians.

The convoy of Khost provincial forces was targeted near the province's main Kabul bus station, said Danish.

The provincial public health acting director Gul Mohammadin Mohammadi confirmed that 14 people were killed in the attack and at least 8 others wounded.
